Margaret Quan, CPFA
After working seventeen years in the corporate world, Margaret returned to college in pursuit of advanced degrees, so that she could teach at the community college level. She holds a B.A. in Chinese Studies and a B. A. and an M.A. in History. Margaret has been an adjunct instructor at Diablo Valley College for 12 years where she serves on the Independent union board and negotiating team. She has served nine years on the governing board of the Faculty Association of California Community Colleges and, currently, serves as Chair of the Part-time Standing Committee. Margaret is a founding member of CPFA and also serves on the Part-time and Nontenure Track Committee of AAUP. Margaret's personal philosophy about being an adjunct is this: you must have the heart of a child, the mind of a scholar, and the hide of a rhinoceros. |
