Patricia Lambert Stock is professor of English and director of the writing center at Michigan State University. She served as the first associate executive director of the National Council of Teachers of English with special responsibilities for issues in higher education and has written articles on the scholarship of teaching, teacher research, inquiry-based literacy instruction, writing center theory and practice, and the politics of literacy instruction and assessment. Her books include fforum: Essays on Theory and Practice in the Teaching of Writing (1982) and The Dialogic Curriculum (1995), which received the Richard A. Meade Award.
