CLUW Takes Anti-War Stand

Dear CLUW DC Area Leadership,

At the January 10th CLUW National Officers Council meeting the officers passed a statement in opposition to the threatened war with Iraq. The statement will be available for distribution by the end of this week. However, as you may know, there will be marches, rallies, teach-ins this weekend in Washington in opposition to the war. CLUW would like to be a part of this. Code Pink, who has been hosting a women's peace vigil daily at the White House since Nov. 17th will be meeting on Saturday, Jan. 18th at 10:15 am at the Capitol South metro entrance and CLUW members will be joining them at that time. At 11:00 activities begin on the west side of the Capitol. Other activities are also planned on January 17th. Check out www.unitedforpeace.org. for more information. Please pass the word along to CLUW members in the area and wear your CLUW hat or identification. It would be great if you could let me know who or how many folks will be attending.

I will also be asking Connie Cordovilla to pass the word along through her Washington Women's Network listing.

In Sisterhood,
Carol Rosenblatt,
